Jacqueline K. Barton (born New York City, NY), is an American chemist.She worked as a Professor of Chemistry at Hunter College (1980–82), and at Columbia University (1983–89) before joining the California Institute of Technology (1989-to the present).
Dr. Jacqueline K. Barton is the John G. Kirkwood and Arthur A. Noyes Professor of Chemistry and Norman Davidson Leadership Chair of the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology.
Barton was born in 1952 and raised in New York City. Her father was a State Supreme Court justice, and her mother was a Belgian Jew who escaped to England ahead of Hitler’s invading army and then immigrated to the United States.
