Never use Dr. John Doe, PhD; it's grammatically incorrect, redundant and generally stupid. I know you'll have worked hard for your degree and will be justifiably proud of it (for a while). Just remember: everyone else with a graduate degree did too, so they're not impressed with the degree, just with what you do with it.
